LA COSTA ROSSA (Gallura) A few words about Sweet Home By: Marina Elena Orilio & Maurlio Frau Sweet Home is located on Isola Rossa, between Costa Paradiso and Castelsardo. It is a small fishing village that fascinates with the pristine beauty of nature and the scorching sunsets. Isola Rossa, is in the municipality of Trinità d’Agultu and Vignola and is a famous seaside resort on the Costa Rossa, a coastal stretch of Gallura between Santa Teresa and Badesi. Reachable in an hour's drive from Olbia or Alghero Fertilia airport, the Costa Rossa is a part of the island still little explored, where the beaches of fine white sand and crystal clear water have nothing to envy to the more famous ones of the Costa Smeralda. The center of Isola Rossa winds between the main street and the seafront towards the tourist port, a strategic landing point in Northern Sardinia from which to leave for exciting boat trips. Shops, restaurants, ice cream parlors and small craft boutiques alternate with bars overlooking the sea, popular especially at aperitif time or for a snack between one dip and another. Inside the town are the Spiaggia Lunga and the small beach of Li Femini, both with shallow water and transparent waters. Not far away, there is the wonderful bay of La Marinedda, another 2018 Blue Flag beach on the Costa Rossa, which surrounds the stretch of sea that reaches Punta Li Canneddi from the Isola Rossa promontory. On the rugged coast that continues towards Costa Paradiso, many small hidden coves fascinate for the wonderful play of colors between rocks and sea. Among these Cala Rossa, reachable with a 10-minute walk on a dirt path that starts from La Marinedda. A wild beach, dotted with rocks that create small swimming pools; perfect for bathing children and snorkeling. Through trekking paths on the sea you reach the small beach of Li Tinnari, a true natural paradise, while with a few more steps you reach Li Cossi, a bay sheltered from the wind, loved both by couples looking for privacy and intimacy, and by families with children. For nature lovers in search of silence and rest, the Li Feruli beach, towards Badesi, is not very busy even in July and August, reachable in just 10 minutes by car from Isola Rossa or through an easy path that starts from Long Beach. What can you do in this beautiful place in Sardinia? The Costa Rossa is a very popular destination for lovers of hiking and trekking. The paths on the sea of low and medium difficulty offer beautiful emotions and lead to little frequented beaches, among the scents of the luxuriant Mediterranean scrub. For water sports enthusiasts, the bay of La Marinedda is a paradise: surfing, windsurfing, catamarans and wakeboarding animate this delightful beach surrounded by nature. It will be fun to try to ride the waves in one of the most famous hot spots in Italy and theater of the Marinedda Bay Open surf contest which, between the end of August and the first half of September, attracts the best athletes on the international scene. Isola Rossa is also worth discovering with a mask and snorkel! Snorkeling and diving between the cliffs of Punta Canneddi and Costa Paradiso will take you to a wonderful underwater world, where you can admire red corals and ravines populated by many species of fish. Among the other activities by sea to do during your holidays in Isola Rossa you cannot miss an unforgettable boat trip to Corsica or the Archipelago of La Maddalena or a fun fishing trip with friends off the fishy waters of the Gulf of 'Asinara. For the enjoyment of young and old, don't miss a day at Acqua fantasy, the water park with a panoramic view of the coast. What to see in Isola Rossa and its surroundings Isola Rossa is a center of ancient origins because its strategic position has made it a landing and lookout point on the Gulf of Asinara. As evidence of this stands a tower, a legacy of Spanish rule dating back to 1595. During a walk to the marina it is worth stopping to enjoy the sunset and take souvenir photos of your holiday in Sardinia. Here everyone can emphasize the free gifts of nature such as sunlight, moonlight, air, natural and artificial resources. We are convinced that everyone has the right to benefit from nature which provides shelter to our bodies and elevates our spirits. For this reason we are committed to furnishing our home with love. For the flooring of the outdoor terrace we have chosen red bricks that recall the characteristic color of this area, to divide the spaces instead of wooden grills…. The gate was built by Maury in galvanized iron and wood and the platform also in fine IROKO wood while the external planter, in stone-effect bricks. The linen and cushions were taken from a Sardinian handicraft shop. Marina made the large pillows on the head of the beds and are in Sardinian fabric, while the towels are from a Danish company Kronborg. The Sweet Home terrace is enhanced by comfortable outdoor furniture. All the compositions are created by Marina (Maryelencreations) and the materials used are drops of crystals, colored sands, synthetic flowers, orchids and dendrobium. Everything is the result of a research on our part of materials, colors and tastes, visible in our house where you can breathe the beauty and goodness of Sardinia, as well as our sincere love.
